Beginning with the 2009 Season we have added some services for day hikers.  Day hikers are those who hike to the lodge but do not have overnight reservations. 

Day hiker services are available 7 days a week from March 21 through November 22, 2011.  Day hikers may reserve a "sit down" lunch at the lodge by calling 865-429-5704, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT.  The office is closed on weekends and most major holidays.   This lunch is served from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm Eastern Time.  The lunch is $9.00. Reservations and prepayment are required at least 48 hours in advance.   If you would like to schedule lunches on a Monday, please contact the office before 4:00 pm EDT on Friday. The lunch menu is soup, chicken salad sandwich (cheese or peanut butter and jelly are also available), chocolate oatmeal cookie, hot chocolate, coffee and lemonade. Sit down lunches are served from 12-3 EDT.  Evening meal and breakfast are not available for day hikers or shelter hikers.

Day hikers may also purchase a sack lunch containing a bagel, cream cheese packet, beef summer sausage, applesauce, trail mix, cookies and Gatorade drink packet.  The sack lunch is $9.00. Pre-ordering is not required. These are available throughout the day.

The lodge will also offer our day hikers beverages: hot chocolate, coffee and lemonade for $3.00 each and assorted baked goods for $1.00 each from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.

Day hikers may purchase any of the items sold in the Lodge Gift Shop located in the office.  Please refer to the list of souvenir items available. Payment is accepted by check, cash or credit card with ID. AMEX is not accepted.
